At Urban Kitchen SF, we strive to give people the skills to put a jar of homemade kimchi in every pantry, a bowl of fresh ricotta in every 'fridge, a well-butchered chicken in every pot... you get the idea. But we need your help in order to continue this noble tradition. In other words, Support Urban Kitchen SF
We have never turned anyone away from one of our classes for lack of funds. That's right. No one. We do our best to keep our class prices low - most classes cost around $50 - but for some, even that can mean the difference between learning to pickle and a life spent crunching on lesser dills. Donate today to help us ensure that people who can't swing the full price will get a break. ...because everyone deserves to pickle. As a thank you for helping out your fellow aspiring DIY'er in need (minimum $20 donation - totally doable!), we'll add your name to a VIP, super-special, thanks-for-being-so-awesome list for 2012. Everyone on the VIPSSTFBSA list will be given an exclusive opportunity to sign up for classes before the general public for the coming year, even if you're sliding scale. Thanks! You can also send a check or money order (payable to Urban Kitchen Workshops) to:

Question: What will the money be used for?
Answer: To help subsidize class fees for our sliding scale participants. In 2012, we anticipate subsidizing classes for more than 120 people. We need at least $2500 to cover these participants, but we would love to go beyond that to bring more classes to a larger audience. Every bit helps! A mere $20 translates into a 40% price reduction, and, for many, that can make a difference.Question: Will my donation be tax deductible? Answer: Yes! Urban Kitchen SF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so your donation is fully tax deductible. If you donated to us after January 5, 2010, your donation is now fully tax deductible. Question: I don't have money to give - is there another way I can help out? Answer: Yes! UKSF is always looking for in-kind donations. Things like new cutting boards, knives, mixing bowls, and propane burners are all useful and much needed. Shoot us an email if you're able to donate any of the items above. |
